Programming Guide for 2015 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: This vehicle supports programming of remote fobs using either an existing, recognized transmitter or by performing a full reset if no remotes are available. When no working transmitter is present, the procedure requires approximately 30 minutes and must be completed with all remotes on hand.

Programming a Remote – With One Recognized Transmitter Available:

  • Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and all transmitters, both working and new, are present.
  • Step 2: Remove the emergency key from the recognized remote fob.
  • Step 3: Place the recognized remote in the front cupholder.
  • Step 4: Remove the cover from the driver’s side door lock.
  • Step 5: Insert the emergency key into the lock and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 6: The instrument panel will display: “Ready to Learn Electronic Key #2, 3, 4, etc.”
  • Step 7: Open the center console storage compartment and locate the transmitter pocket.
  • Step 8: Insert the new remote into the pocket with its buttons facing upward.
  • Step 9: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The system will recognize the new remote.
  • Step 10: Remove the remote and press either the lock or unlock button to confirm.
  • Step 11: Repeat Steps 8 through 10 for any additional transmitters.
  • Step 12: After all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 13: Insert the emergency key back into each remote.

Programming a Remote – Without Any Recognized Transmitter Available: (Estimated duration: 30 minutes)

  • Step 1: Make sure the vehicle is turned off and all remotes to be programmed are available.
  • Step 2: Remove the emergency key from one of the new remotes.
  • Step 3: Remove the door lock cylinder cap on the driver’s side.
  • Step 4: Insert the emergency key into the lock and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 5: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display: “Remote Learn Pending. Please Wait.”
  • Step 6: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the display shows: “Press Engine Start Button to Learn.”
  • Step 7: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The display will revert to the pending message.
  • Step 8: Repeat Step 7 two more times, waiting 10 minutes between each step.
  • Step 9: After the third cycle, the display will show: “Ready for Remote #1.”
  • Step 10: Open the center console and access the transmitter pocket under the liner.
  • Step 11: Place the new remote into the pocket with the buttons facing up.
  • Step 12: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button to register the remote.
  • Step 13: Remove the remote and press either the lock or unlock button to confirm pairing.
  • Step 14: Repeat Steps 11 through 13 for each additional transmitter.
  • Step 15: Once all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 16: Return the emergency key to each remote after completion.
