Programming Guide for 2015 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob – Cadillac Escalade
Important Notice: The 2015 Escalade supports onboard programming of keyless entry remote fobs. Up to eight transmitters can be programmed. The programming procedure depends on whether you have at least one recognized transmitter. Please follow the appropriate steps below.
Programming with One Recognized Transmitter: Use this procedure when at least one working transmitter is currently recognized by the vehicle.
- Step 1: Remove the Physical Key Remove the mechanical key from the recognized transmitter.
- Step 2: Position the Recognized Transmitter Place the recognized transmitter in either the cup holder or the front passenger seat.
- Step 3: Enter Programming Mode Remove the cap from the driver door key cylinder. Insert the mechanical key into the cylinder and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display: READY FOR REMOTE #2, #3, #4, or #5
- Step 4: Insert the New Transmitter Place the new transmitter into the transmitter pocket, located inside the center console storage area.
- Step 5: Program the Transmitter Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. Once the new transmitter is programmed, the DIC will prompt you to continue with the next.
- Step 6: Confirm and Repeat Remove the transmitter from the pocket and press the UNLOCK button to confirm. Repeat Steps 3–5 for each additional transmitter.
- Step 7: Exit Programming Mode Once all transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
Programming Without a Recognized Transmitter: Use this method if no working transmitters are available. This process takes approximately 30 minutes.
Note: This feature is not available in Canada.

Additional Considerations:
Program All Remotes Together: Any remotes not programmed in the same session will no longer function.
Battery Check: Ensure each transmitter has a working battery before starting.
System Capacity: The vehicle supports up to eight remotes.
Estimated Time: The full process may take 5–30 minutes depending on the method used.
