Programming Guide for 2015 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob – Cadillac XTS

Programming with a Recognized Transmitter: Use this method when at least one working transmitter is available. The vehicle supports up to eight remote fobs.

  • Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and all transmitters are with you.
  • Step 2: Open the center console storage compartment and lift the tray to access the transmitter pocket.
  • Step 3: Place the working transmitter into the pocket located inside the center console between the front seats.
  • Step 4: Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver’s door handle. Insert the mechanical key and turn it counterclockwise (unlock) five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 5: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display “READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, ETC.”
  • Step 6: Replace the recognized transmitter with the new one and place it in the same transmitter pocket.
  • Step 7: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. Once the new transmitter is programmed, the DIC will display readiness for the next remote.
  • Step 8: Remove the transmitter and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button to verify function.
  • Step 9: To add more remotes, repeat Steps 6 through 8 for each.
  • Step 10: When all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.

Programming without a Recognized Transmitter: Use this method if no functional remotes are available. This process is not available in Canada and will take approximately 30 minutes.

  • Step 5: Repeat Step 4 two more times. After the third cycle, all previously programmed remotes will be erased.
  • Step 6: When “READY FOR REMOTE #1” appears, place the new transmitter in the transmitter pocket in the center console.
  • Step 7: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm programming of the new transmitter.
