2015 Subaru Legacy

2015 Subaru Legacy Smart Key Remote Fob Programming Instructions

Important Notice: The 2015 Subaru Legacy is not equipped for onboard programming of its smart key remote fobs. Programming must be completed by a qualified technician using specialized diagnostic equipment connected to the vehicle.

Programming Procedure

  • Step 1: Schedule service with a certified automotive technician or an authorized provider who has experience programming smart key systems and access to the proper diagnostic tools.
  • Step 2: If your vehicle is drivable, consider transporting it to the service location. This may help reduce additional costs associated with mobile service.
  • Step 3: The technician will use a diagnostic interface to access the vehicle's onboard computer and register the new smart key fob to the system.
  • Step 4: Once the process is complete, the technician will verify that the smart key functions correctly, including locking, unlocking, and push-button start (if equipped).

Additional Notes

  • If no functioning fob is available, you may be required to present proof of ownership, such as a registration document or vehicle title. Some systems require all existing remotes to be present during programming to ensure they remain active. Make sure the technician you work with is familiar with Subaru smart key systems to avoid compatibility or programming errors.
