2015 Volkswagen Jetta – Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Guide

Important Notice: The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta features a factory-installed smart key system that does not support onboard programming. Any new or replacement smart key remote fob must be programmed using specialized diagnostic tools that interface directly with the vehicle’s immobilizer and access control modules. Programming Requirements: A compatible, unprogrammed smart key remote fob Authorized diagnostic equipment with key programming capabilities All current remotes should be present during the programming session Ownership documentation may be required, especially when all keys are lost

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Park the vehicle in a secure location and ensure the ignition is off. Have all current and new smart keys ready for the procedure.
  • Step 2: Connect a certified diagnostic device to the vehicle’s OBD-II port, located under the dashboard on the driver’s side.
  • Step 3: Access the vehicle’s electronic system through the diagnostic tool and select the appropriate menu for key or immobilizer programming.
  • Step 4: Follow the prompts provided by the diagnostic software to initiate the smart key registration process. Depending on the system, you may be prompted to place the key near a sensor or push-start button.
  • Step 5: Once the system detects and verifies the new key, confirm its registration. If multiple keys are being added, each one must be programmed within the same session.
  • Step 6: After all keys have been successfully programmed, the tool will display a confirmation. Safely disconnect the diagnostic interface from the vehicle.
  • Step 7: Test all keys to ensure full functionality. Confirm that the engine starts, the doors lock and unlock remotely, and any proximity features operate correctly.
