Programming Guide for 2016 Audi S7 Keyless Entry Smart Key Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 2016 Audi S7 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. All programming must be completed by a qualified automotive technician using Audi-approved diagnostic equipment.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Schedule service with a certified technician or authorized Audi service provider who is equipped with factory-grade tools for smart key programming.
  • Step 2: If the vehicle is operable, driving it to the service location may reduce overall costs compared to requesting mobile service.
  • Step 3: Ensure all remote fobs—both existing and new—are brought to the appointment. Remotes not present may be removed from the system during programming.
  • Step 4: The technician will connect Audi-specific diagnostic equipment to the vehicle’s OBD-II port to access the security and keyless entry modules.
  • Step 5: Through the diagnostic system, the technician will initiate the registration process and program each smart key remote to the vehicle’s ignition and locking systems.
  • Step 6: Each fob will be tested to verify full functionality, including lock/unlock, trunk access, and push-button start features.
  • Step 7: If any fob fails to work correctly, the technician will troubleshoot the system and repeat the process to ensure successful pairing.
  • Step 8: Once all fobs are registered and confirmed functional, the vehicle will exit programming mode and the process will be finalized.
