Programming with an Existing Programmed Key: This method allows you to program a new key when at least one working key is already paired with the vehicle.

  • Step 1: Insert the currently programmed key into the ignition.
  • Step 2: Turn the key to the ON/RUN position and leave it there briefly.
  • Step 3: Turn the key to the LOCK/OFF position and remove it from the ignition.
  • Step 4: Within five seconds, insert the new key that you wish to program.
  • Step 5: Turn the new key to the ON/RUN position.
  • Step 6: Wait for the security indicator light to turn off. This confirms the new key has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 7: Repeat Steps 1 through 6 for any additional keys you want to program.
  • Step 8: After programming is complete, test each key to ensure proper operation of both ignition and remote functions.

Programming Without Any Recognized Keys: Use this method to program a new key when no previously programmed keys are available. The entire procedure takes approximately 30 minutes. Some regional regulations may require technician assistance when no keys are available. Always verify the programming method permitted in your area.

  • Step 1: Insert the new key into the ignition cylinder.
  • Step 2: Turn the key to the ON/RUN position. The security light will illuminate.
  • Step 3: Leave the key in the ON/RUN position for 10 minutes, or until the security light turns off.
  • Step 4: Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF and pause for a few seconds.
  • Step 5: Repeat Steps 2 through 4 two more times. Each cycle will take about 10 minutes.
  • Step 6: After the third cycle, turn the key to the ON/RUN position again.
  • Step 7: The key will now be recognized by the vehicle, and the programming is complete.
  • Step 8: At this stage, any previous keys not present during the session will be erased from the system.
  • Step 9: To add more keys, use the steps outlined in the Programming with an Existing Programmed Key section.

Additional Notes:

Ensure that all keys to be used are present during programming, especially when starting from scratch. After programming is complete, verify that each key starts the vehicle and activates any remote functions. Keep all functional keys stored securely to avoid being locked out or repeating the procedure.
