Programming Guide for 2025 Cadillac CT5 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 2025 Cadillac CT5 does not support onboard programming for smart key fobs. All new or replacement remotes must be programmed using specialized diagnostic equipment by a qualified technician. Attempting to program a remote without the proper tools will result in failure, and existing remotes may be deactivated during the process if not reprogrammed simultaneously.

Programming Procedure (Technician Required):

  • Step 1: Retrieve all existing and new remote fobs intended for use with the vehicle. Any remotes not included in the current session will be erased from memory.
  • Step 2: Ensure the vehicle battery is in good condition. A low or unstable battery may interrupt the programming process and cause errors.
  • Step 3: Manually unlock the driver door using the mechanical key inside one of the fobs.
  • Step 4: Sit inside the vehicle and locate the OBD-II diagnostic port beneath the dashboard, near the steering column.
  • Step 5: Connect an approved GM-compatible scan tool to the OBD-II port. The system will initiate a secure connection with the vehicle’s immobilizer and remote programming interface.
  • Step 6: On the scan tool menu, select the 2025 Cadillac CT5 from the model list and access the “Remote Key Programming” function.
  • Step 7: When prompted, place the new remote fob in the RFID programming pocket—typically found inside the center console or rear cupholder.
  • Step 8: Wait for the scan tool or Driver Information Center (DIC) to confirm that the fob has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 9: Repeat the process for each additional fob. Up to eight remotes can be programmed.
  • Step 10: Once all remotes have been added, exit programming mode using the scan tool interface.
  • Step 11: Test every programmed fob for full functionality—ensure LOCK, UNLOCK, and START features work properly.
