2017 Buick Enclave Keyless Entry Remote Fob (Smart Key)

Important Notice: The 2017 Buick Enclave does not support onboard programming for smart key remotes. All new or replacement key fobs must be programmed using a diagnostic scan tool by a qualified technician. Any remotes not present during programming may be erased from the vehicle's memory.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Make sure the vehicle is in Park and all doors are fully closed.
  • Step 2: Have all existing and new remote fobs with you before starting the programming session.
  • Step 3: The technician will connect a professional scan tool to the vehicle’s OBD-II diagnostic port, located under the dashboard near the driver’s side.
  • Step 4: Using the scan tool, the technician will access the vehicle’s Body Control Module (BCM) to begin the programming sequence.
  • Step 5: A security authentication process may be necessary before access is granted. This may involve entering a security PIN.
  • Step 6: Once access is approved, the vehicle will enter remote learning mode, allowing new key fobs to be registered.
  • Step 7: The technician will follow the prompts on the scan tool to program each remote. This may include pressing specific buttons or placing the fob in a designated slot.
  • Step 8: The vehicle will confirm successful programming, often with a chime sound or automatic door lock cycling.
  • Step 9: Each additional remote can be added by repeating the same process while still in programming mode.
  • Step 10: After all desired remotes have been programmed, the technician will exit the programming mode.
  • Step 11: Test all programmed remotes to verify full functionality—lock, unlock, remote start (if equipped), and panic functions.
