Programming Guide for 2017 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This vehicle allows programming of new remote fobs using either two existing recognized transmitters or a full reset process if no remotes are available. All transmitters to be programmed must be present during setup.
Programming a Remote – With Two Recognized Transmitters Available:
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and all remotes (both recognized and new) are on hand.
- Step 2: Remove the emergency key from one of the recognized transmitters.
- Step 3: Place both recognized transmitters in the front cupholder.
- Step 4: Remove the cap covering the key cylinder on the driver’s door handle.
- Step 5: Insert the emergency key into the door lock and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 6: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display: “Ready to Learn Electronic Key #2, 3, 4, etc.”
- Step 7: Open the center console and locate the transmitter pocket beneath the cupholder insert.
- Step 8: Insert the new transmitter into the pocket with the buttons facing up.
- Step 9: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once. The DIC will confirm that the new transmitter has been accepted.
- Step 10: Remove the remote and press either the lock or unlock button.
- Step 11: Repeat Steps 8 through 10 for any additional transmitters.
- Step 12: After programming is complete, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 13: Reinsert the emergency key into each transmitter once finished.
Programming a Remote – Without Recognized Transmitters Available: (Estimated time: 30 minutes – up to 8 transmitters can be programmed)
- Step 1: Confirm the vehicle is turned off. Have all transmitters ready before beginning.
- Step 2: Remove the emergency key from one of the new transmitters.
- Step 3: Remove the cap covering the key lock cylinder on the driver’s door handle.
- Step 4: Insert the key and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 5: The DIC will display: “Remote Learn Pending. Please Wait.”
- Step 6: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the message changes to: “Press Engine Start Button to Learn.”
- Step 7: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The system will return to the pending message.
- Step 8: Repeat Step 7 two more times, waiting 10 minutes between each prompt.
- Step 9: After the third cycle, the DIC will display: “Ready for Remote #1.”
- Step 10: Open the center console and remove the cupholder liner to access the transmitter pocket.
- Step 11: Place the new remote into the pocket with buttons facing upward.
- Step 12: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button to register the remote.
- Step 13: Remove the transmitter and press the lock or unlock button to confirm pairing.
- Step 14: Repeat Steps 11 through 13 for each additional remote.
- Step 15: Once all transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 16: Reinsert the emergency key into each transmitter after programming.
