Programming Guide for 2017 Cadillac CT6 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming only when two recognized smart key transmitters are available. If no working remotes are accessible, a 30-minute relearn procedure is required. For vehicles sold in Canada, this procedure may be restricted. Ensure the vehicle is stationary and all transmitters are present during the process.

Programming with Two Recognized Transmitters: A new remote can be added when two valid transmitters are available.

  • Step 1: Remove the mechanical key from each recognized transmitter.
  • Step 2: Place both recognized transmitters into the cupholder.
  • Step 3: Remove the cap from the driver-side door handle to access the mechanical key lock. Insert the key and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 4: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, ETC.
  • Step 5: Open the center console, remove the rubber mat, and place the new remote in the transmitter pocket.
  • Step 6: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. Once the remote is accepted, the DIC will confirm readiness for the next remote.
  • Step 7: Remove the remote from the pocket and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button to complete pairing.
  • Step 8: Repeat Steps 5–7 for additional remotes as needed.
  • Step 9: Once all remotes are programmed, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 10: Reinsert the mechanical key into the remote fobs.

Programming without Recognized Transmitters: If no recognized remotes are available, follow this 30-minute relearn process.

  • Step 1: Remove the mechanical key from the new transmitter.
  • Step 2: Remove the cap on the driver door handle and insert the mechanical key.
  • Step 3: Turn the key counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC will display REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
  • Step 4: Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN, then press ENGINE START/STOP.
  • Step 5: The DIC will again display REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
  • Step 6: Repeat Step 4 two more times. After the third cycle, the DIC will show READY FOR REMOTE #1.
  • Step 7: Open the center console, remove the mat, and place the new transmitter in the pocket.
  • Step 8: Press ENGINE START/STOP. Once programmed, the DIC will prompt for the next remote.
  • Step 9: Remove the remote from the pocket and press LOCK or UNLOCK.
  • Step 10: Repeat Steps 7–9 for additional remotes. Up to eight remotes can be programmed.
  • Step 11: When finished, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for about 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 12: Insert the mechanical key back into the transmitter.
