In such cases, a professional technician must use diagnostic tools to program the fob. If your Yukon has two programmed Smart Keys, follow the method below to add another remote.</font></p> <p><font size="3"><b> If You Have Two Recognized Smart Remotes</b> </font></p> <p><font size="3">You may program an additional remote fob when two previously programmed remotes are available. Ensure the vehicle is off and that all remotes (both programmed and new) are present inside the vehicle. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Step-by-Step Instructions:</b> </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Remove the key blade from one of the existing smart remotes. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Place both recognized smart remotes in the vehicle, such as in the cupholder or on the front passenger seat. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Using the mechanical key, insert it into the driver door lock cylinder and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: The Driver Information Center (DIC) should display: "Ready for Remote #2, 3, 4, etc." </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: Open the center console, remove the tray, and place the new smart remote into the remote pocket located in front of the storage area. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once. The DIC will confirm the remote has been learned. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: Remove the remote from the pocket and press the Lock or Unlock button to confirm programming.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 8: To add more remotes, repeat Steps 5 through 7. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 9: Once complete, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 10: Reinsert the key blade into each smart remote. </font></li> </ul> <p><font size="3"><b>If No Programmed Smart Remote Is Available</b> </font></p> <p><font size="3">If all original smart remotes are lost or unavailable, follow the 30-minute relearn procedure to program new remotes. The DIC will again display "Remote Learn Pending." </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Repeat Step 5 two more times, completing three 10-minute cycles in total.</font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: After the third cycle, the DIC will show "Ready for Remote #1." </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 8: Open the center console and place the new remote into the remote pocket. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 9: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button to learn the remote. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 10: Remove the remote and press the Lock or Unlock button to confirm. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 11: Repeat Steps 8 through 10 to add more remotes as needed.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 12: After all remotes have been programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 13: Reinsert the mechanical key back into each smart remote.</font></li> </ul>
