You must have two already-programmed keys and one new, unprogrammed key to complete this process. If you have fewer than two working keys, programming must be done using professional equipment. Ensure the vehicle is completely off and that all doors remain closed throughout the procedure. Complete all steps within 30 seconds of starting the sequence. If any step is done out of order or too slowly, wait at least one minute before starting again. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Step-by-Step Smart Key Programming Process:</b></font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Sit inside the vehicle, ensure all doors are securely closed, and place your foot off the brake pedal. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Open the floor console storage compartment lid to access the backup key slot. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Insert the first working Intelligent Access Key into the backup slot with the buttons facing out and key ring up. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Press the START/STOP button once (do not press the brake pedal).</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 5: Wait approximately five seconds, then press the START/STOP button again to turn the ignition off. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Remove the first key from the slot.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 7: Within 10 seconds, insert the second programmed key into the same backup slot. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 8: Press the START/STOP button again. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 9: Wait five seconds, then press the START/STOP button a second time to turn the ignition off. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 10: Remove the second key from the slot. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 11: Wait another five seconds, then insert the new, unprogrammed Intelligent Access Key into the backup slot. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 12: Press the START/STOP button. The vehicle will attempt to recognize and program the new key.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 13: Wait several seconds. If successful, the new key will be accepted and stored in the system. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 14: Remove the newly programmed key from the backup slot. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 15: Press the lock and then unlock buttons on the new key fob to verify remote function. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 16: With your foot on the brake pedal, press the START/STOP button to ensure the vehicle starts using the new key.
