2018 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This vehicle does not support onboard programming. Programming of the smart key remote fob requires specialized diagnostic tools and must be performed by a certified automotive technician or an authorized dealer.
- Step 1: Determine whether you are replacing a lost remote or adding a new one. Some systems require that all remotes be programmed together during the same session to function properly.
- Step 2: Schedule an appointment with a certified automotive technician or an authorized dealer who is equipped with the necessary diagnostic tools to program the smart key fob.
- Step 3: Bring all currently functioning remotes to the appointment. Any remotes not present during programming may be removed from the system and will no longer work.
- Step 4: If the vehicle is operational, driving it to the technician’s location is often more cost-effective than having them come to you for mobile service.
- Step 5: If no working remotes are available, be ready to present proof of ownership, such as your vehicle registration or title, before programming can begin.
- Step 6: The technician will connect specialized diagnostic equipment to your vehicle’s system to program the new smart key remote securely.
- Step 7: Once programming is complete, the technician will test all key fob functions—including locking, unlocking, and engine start—to ensure the remote is working correctly.
- Step 8: After successful programming, personally test the key fob to ensure it operates in all expected scenarios, such as proximity unlocking and starting the vehicle.
- Step 9: If additional remotes need to be programmed, repeat the process for each one within 30 seconds of completing the previous programming.
- Step 10: Once all remotes are verified to work correctly, finalize the process, ensuring that all programmed fobs are fully integrated with your vehicle's system.
