Programming Guide for 2018 Cadillac CT6 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 2018 Cadillac CT6 supports onboard programming only when two recognized transmitters are present. If no working remotes are available, a 30-minute relearn process is required. This method allows programming of up to eight remote transmitters per vehicle. Ensure all remotes are with you before beginning.
Programming with Two Recognized Transmitters: Use this procedure to add a new transmitter when two working remotes are available.
- Step 1: Remove the mechanical key from each of the two recognized remote fobs.
- Step 2: Place both recognized remotes in the vehicle’s cupholder.
- Step 3: Remove the key cylinder cap from the driver door handle. Insert the mechanical key and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 4: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, ETC.
- Step 5: Open the center console, remove the rubber mat, and place the new remote into the transmitter pocket.
- Step 6: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm when the remote has been successfully programmed and prompt for the next.
- Step 7: Remove the new remote from the transmitter pocket and press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button.
- Step 8: Repeat Steps 5–7 to program additional remotes as needed.
- Step 9: After programming is complete, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for about 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 10: Reinsert the mechanical keys into each remote.
Programming without Recognized Transmitters: Use this process if no working remotes are available. This will take approximately 30 minutes and will erase all previously stored remote keys.
- Step 1: Remove the mechanical key from the new transmitter.
- Step 2: Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver door handle and insert the mechanical key.
- Step 3: Turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC will display REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
- Step 4: Wait 10 minutes until the DIC shows PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN, then press ENGINE START/STOP.
- Step 5: The display will again show REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT. Repeat the previous step two more times.
- Step 6: After the third cycle, the DIC will show READY FOR REMOTE #1.
- Step 7: Open the center console, remove the rubber mat, and insert the new remote into the transmitter pocket.
- Step 8: Press ENGINE START/STOP. The DIC will confirm the remote has been learned.
- Step 9: Remove the remote and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button.
- Step 10: Repeat Steps 7–9 for any additional remotes (up to eight total).
- Step 11: Once complete, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 12: Reinsert the mechanical key into each newly programmed transmitter.
