Important Notice: The 2018 Subaru Legacy does not support onboard programming for its smart key remote fob. Programming requires the use of specialized diagnostic tools and must be completed by a qualified automotive technician.

• Step 4: After the new smart key fob is registered, the technician will test its functions—including lock, unlock, and push-button start—to ensure proper operation.

Additional Notes:

• If no working remotes are available, you may be asked to provide proof of ownership, such as vehicle registration or title.
