Programming Guide for 2018 Volvo V40 Keyless Entry Remote Fob (Smart Key)

Important Notice: This vehicle does not support onboard programming for keyless entry remote fobs. Programming requires specialized diagnostic equipment and must be performed by a qualified technician.

Programming Procedure

• Step 2: Consider Cost-Effective Options If your vehicle is still drivable, consider driving it to the technician’s location instead of having them come to you, which can save money on service fees.
• Step 3: Prepare All Key Fobs Before the programming process, ensure you have all the current and new key fobs that need to be programmed. Some systems may require all fobs to be available during the programming session.
• Step 4: Provide Proof of Ownership The technician may require proof of ownership, such as your vehicle registration or title, to verify that you are the authorized owner of the vehicle before proceeding with programming.
