Programming Guide for 2019 Audi S4 Keyless Entry Smart Key Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 2019 Audi S4 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. All programming must be completed by a professional using manufacturer-specific diagnostic equipment.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Contact a certified automotive technician or an authorized service provider who is equipped to work with Audi smart key systems.
  • Step 2: If your vehicle is drivable, it may be more cost-effective to take it directly to the service provider’s location rather than requesting a mobile visit.
  • Step 3: Ensure the technician has experience with Audi security and immobilizer systems to avoid programming errors or incompatibility.
  • Step 4: Bring all remote fobs you want to program, as previously stored keys may be erased during the new programming session.
  • Step 5: The technician will connect specialized diagnostic equipment to your vehicle’s OBD-II port and access the immobilizer control module.
  • Step 6: Through the diagnostic system, the technician will initiate the key adaptation process, registering the new smart key fob to your vehicle’s system.
  • Step 7: Once programming is complete, each remote will be tested to confirm proper function—this includes lock/unlock, trunk access, and engine start/stop.
  • Step 8: If any remotes fail to function, the technician will recheck the system for configuration errors and reprogram if necessary.
  • Step 9: After successful programming, ensure all key functions work properly and store your spare remote in a secure location.

Additional Considerations:

  • Proof of Ownership: You may need to present the vehicle’s title or registration before programming can be authorized.

Remote Compatibility:

  • Only use smart key fobs specifically designed for the 2019 Audi S4.

System Limit:

  • Most Audi vehicles can store a limited number of remotes. All intended keys should be programmed during the same session.
