2019 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Programming with Two Programmed Remotes: Use this method when two remotes are already paired with the vehicle. This process allows you to add one or more new remotes using the onboard programming system.

  • Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is completely off and safely parked.
  • Step 2: Place both currently programmed remotes in the front cupholder located in the center console.
  • Step 3: Go to the driver’s side door and insert the emergency key from the new remote into the external key lock cylinder.
  • Step 4: Turn the key to the unlock position (counterclockwise) five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 5: The Driver Information Center (DIC) should display: “READY FOR REMOTE #2,” “#3,” “#4,” or “#5.”
  • Step 6: Remove both of the programmed remotes from the front cupholder.
  • Step 7: Place the new remote into the same front cupholder.
  • Step 8: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
  • Step 9: Wait for confirmation on the display that the remote has been successfully learned.
  • Step 10: Remove the remote from the cupholder and press the UNLOCK button to complete pairing.
  • Step 11: To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 7 through 10 for each one.
  • Step 12: When programming is complete, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 13: Test each remote to confirm proper operation of locking, unlocking, and engine start functions.

Programming Without Two Programmed Remotes: If fewer than two remotes are currently programmed, use this procedure to program up to eight remotes. This process takes approximately 30 minutes. This procedure may not be available in all regions. Check local regulations before beginning.

  • Step 1: Insert the emergency key from one of the remotes into the driver’s door lock cylinder.
  • Step 2: Turn the key to the unlock position (counterclockwise) five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 3: The DIC will display: “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
  • Step 4: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the display shows: “PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN.”
  • Step 5: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button one time.
  • Step 6: The display will return to: “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
  • Step 7: Repeat Steps 4 through 6 two more times for a total of three 10-minute cycles.
  • Step 8: After the third cycle, the display will show: “READY FOR REMOTE #1.”
  • Step 9: Place the new remote into the front cupholder.
  • Step 10: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
  • Step 11: Wait for confirmation that the remote has been successfully paired.
  • Step 12: Remove the remote from the cupholder and press UNLOCK to confirm pairing.
  • Step 13: To add more remotes, repeat Steps 9 through 12 for each additional remote.
  • Step 14: Once all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 15: Test all remotes to confirm full operation.
