Programming Guide for 2019 Buick Regal TourX Keyless Entry Remote Fob (Smart Key / Keyless Access System)
Overview: The 2019 Regal TourX is equipped with a smart key system that supports remote fob programming. Depending on whether you have recognized transmitters, follow one of the two methods below: With two existing working remotes With no working remotes available Programming with Two Recognized Transmitters Use this method when two functional transmitters are already paired with the vehicle.
- Step 1: Place both recognized remote transmitters into the designated storage bin marked with a lock symbol. (This bin is typically found beneath the center console cupholder or inside the armrest compartment.)
- Step 2: Remove the key lock cylinder cap from the exterior door handle on the driver’s side.
- Step 3: Insert the mechanical key from the new transmitter into the driver door lock, then turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. → The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display: “Ready for Remote #3”, #4, or the appropriate number.
- Step 4: Place the new transmitter into the storage bin, with the buttons facing upward.
- Step 5: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. → The DIC will confirm when the transmitter has been successfully programmed.
- Step 6: Remove the newly added transmitter from the bin and press the unlock button to confirm function.
- Step 7: Repeat Steps 3–6 for each additional transmitter you wish to add.
- Step 8: Once all transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 9: Reinsert the mechanical key into the transmitter and reinstall the key lock cylinder cap.
Programming Without a Recognized Transmitter: Use this method if no remotes are currently recognized by the vehicle. This process takes approximately 30 minutes.
- Step 1: Remove the key lock cylinder cap from the driver’s door.
- Step 2: Insert the mechanical key into the door lock, and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. → The DIC will display: “Remote Learn Pending. Please Wait.”
- Step 3: Wait for about 10 minutes until the display changes to: “Press Engine Start Button to Learn.” Then, press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
- Step 4: The display will return to “Remote Learn Pending.” Repeat Step 3 two more times (three 10-minute cycles total).
- Step 5: After the third cycle, the DIC will display: “Ready for Remote #1.”
- Step 6: Place the first new transmitter into the storage bin, with the buttons facing up.
- Step 7: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button to program the transmitter. → The DIC will confirm the remote has been added.
- Step 8: Remove the transmitter from the bin and press the unlock button to verify functionality.
- Step 9: Repeat Steps 6–8 to program up to eight transmitters total.
- Step 10: After completing programming, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 11: Reinsert the mechanical key into the transmitter and reinstall the key lock cylinder cap.
Additional Notes:
Capacity: A maximum of eight transmitters can be paired with the vehicle.
Battery Check: Ensure all transmitters are fully powered before starting.
Timing Matters: For successful programming, complete each step within the time specified.
Reset Notice: If no transmitters are recognized, previously programmed remotes will be erased from memory during the process.
