Programming Guide for 2019 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob – ATS-V
Important Notice: You can pair new remote fobs to the system by using either two functioning remotes or initiating a timed programming sequence if none are currently recognized. All transmitters to be programmed must be present inside the vehicle throughout the process.
Programming a Remote – When Two Recognized Transmitters Are Present:
- Step 1: Begin with the vehicle turned off and place both recognized remotes and the new one nearby.
- Step 2: Remove the mechanical key from one of the functioning transmitters.
- Step 3: Set both recognized transmitters into the vehicle’s front cupholder.
- Step 4: On the exterior driver’s door, remove the cap from the lock cylinder to expose the key slot.
- Step 5: Insert the emergency key and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 6: The Driver Information Center will confirm readiness to program additional remotes.
- Step 7: Open the center console and remove the cupholder tray to locate the transmitter pocket.
- Step 8: Place the new remote in the pocket with the button side facing upward.
- Step 9: Tap the ENGINE START/STOP button once. The new remote will be registered.
- Step 10: Remove the transmitter and press either lock or unlock to confirm that it has been accepted.
- Step 11: Repeat Steps 8–10 for each extra remote you wish to add.
- Step 12: After all transmitters have been programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 13: Replace the mechanical key into each remote.
Programming a Remote – When No Recognized Transmitters Are Available (Time required: ~30 minutes. Supports up to 8 transmitters.)
- Step 1: Make sure the vehicle is off and keep all transmitters within the cabin.
- Step 2: Remove the mechanical key from one of the new transmitters.
- Step 3: On the outside of the driver’s door, take off the cap covering the keyhole.
- Step 4: Insert the key and rotate it to the unlock position five times in quick succession.
- Step 5: The Driver Information Center will display: “Remote Learn Pending. Please Wait.”
- Step 6: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the message changes to: “Press Engine Start Button to Learn.”
- Step 7: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button one time. The system will return to the previous message.
- Step 8: Repeat Step 7 two more times, spaced 10 minutes apart. After the third cycle, all previously stored remotes will be cleared.
- Step 9: The DIC will now display: “Ready for Remote #1.”
- Step 10: Open the center console and uncover the transmitter pocket below the cupholder insert.
- Step 11: Insert the first new transmitter into the pocket with the buttons facing up.
- Step 12: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The remote will be stored by the vehicle.
- Step 13: Remove the transmitter and press either unlock or lock to confirm programming.
- Step 14: Repeat Steps 11 through 13 for all remaining transmitters.
- Step 15: After completing programming, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to finish.
- Step 16: Insert the mechanical key back into each transmitter.
