Smart Key Remote Programming Guide – 2019 Genesis G90
Important Information: The 2019 Genesis G90 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming must be performed by a qualified professional using advanced diagnostic tools.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Contact a certified automotive technician or authorized service provider experienced in smart key systems and equipped with compatible diagnostic equipment.
- Step 2: Confirm that the technician has the proper tools to access your vehicle’s electronic control system and carry out secure key registration.
- Step 3: If your vehicle is operational, consider driving it to the service provider’s location to avoid additional costs associated with mobile service.
- Step 4: Schedule your visit in advance to ensure the technician is available and prepared for your specific vehicle model.
- Step 5: Bring all current smart keys with you. In some cases, all remotes must be reprogrammed together during the same session.
- Step 6: Once at the service location, the technician will connect a diagnostic device to your vehicle’s onboard port, typically located under the dashboard.
- Step 7: The technician will use specialized software to initiate the programming sequence, pairing the new smart key with the vehicle’s electronic system.
- Step 8: After programming is complete, the technician will test all functions—such as keyless entry, engine start, and trunk release—to confirm proper operation.
- Step 9: Test each remote yourself to ensure everything is functioning correctly before completing the service.
- Step 10: Store spare remotes in a secure place and consider programming an extra key for backup in case of future loss or damage.
