<h1>Programming Guide for 2019 GMC Sierra Keyless Entry Smart Key Remote Fob</h1> <p><font size="3"><b>Important Notice:</b> The 2019 GMC Sierra supports onboard programming for keyless entry smart key fobs only if at least one recognized transmitter is available. If no valid transmitter is present, programming will take approximately 30 minutes and must follow a specific procedure. Vehicles with separate keys and remotes require professional assistance and diagnostic equipment for programming. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Programming with Recognized Transmitters (Keyless Access Models Only):</b> </font></p> <p><font size="3">This method requires two working remotes. </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Remove the emergency key from one of the recognized transmitters. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Place both recognized transmitters inside the vehicle, either in the cupholder or on the passenger seat. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Insert the emergency key into the driver-side door lock cylinder. Turn the key counterclockwise to unlock five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display: &ldquo;Ready for Remote #2, 3, 4, etc.&rdquo; </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Place the new transmitter into the transmitter pocket. This pocket is located inside the center console&mdash;open the lid and storage tray to find it. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm the transmitter is learned and prompt for the next. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Remove the newly programmed transmitter and press the lock or unlock button to test. Repeat steps 4&ndash;6 for any additional remotes. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: Once all transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for about 12 seconds to exit programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 8: Reinsert the emergency key into the fob. </font></li> </ul> <p><font size="3"><b>Programming Without Recognized Transmitters (Keyless Access Models Only):</b> </font></p> <p><font size="3">This process requires all new remotes and will take approximately 30 minutes. Not available in Canada. </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Remove the emergency key from the new transmitter. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Insert the key into the driver door lock and turn counterclockwise to unlock five times within 10 seconds. The DIC will display: &ldquo;Remote Learn Pending, Please Wait&rdquo; </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Wait about 10 minutes until the DIC reads: &ldquo;Press Engine Start Button to Learn&rdquo; Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Repeat Step 3 two more times (a total of 3 cycles). After the third cycle, previous remotes will be erased, and the DIC will display: &ldquo;Ready for Remote #1&rdquo; </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: Place the new remote into the transmitter pocket inside the center console (beneath the storage tray). </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm the remote is recognized. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: Remove the transmitter and press lock or unlock to test. Repeat steps 5&ndash;7 to add additional remotes. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 8: Once finished, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 9: Return the emergency key to the smart key fob. </font></li> </ul> <p><font size="3">If Your Vehicle Uses a Separate Key and Remote: This version of the 2019 GMC Sierra is not onboard programmable and requires professional equipment to program the remote. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Steps to Follow:</b> </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Contact a qualified automotive technician or authorized service provider. If the vehicle is operational, driving it to the provider may reduce service costs.
