To successfully complete this procedure, you must have two previously programmed keys and one new, unprogrammed key. This method will not work unless both programmed keys are available. Intelligent Access Key Programming Steps:
- Step 1: Confirm the vehicle is turned off and that all doors are closed.
- Step 2: Remove the rubber cover from the center cupholder to access the key backup slot.
- Step 3: Insert the first programmed Intelligent Access key into the backup slot with the buttons facing downward.
- Step 4: Press the START/STOP button once (do not press the brake pedal).
- Step 5: Wait 5 seconds.
- Step 6: Press the START/STOP button again to turn the system off.
- Step 7: Remove the first key from the slot.
- Step 8: Within 10 seconds, insert the second programmed key into the backup slot.
- Step 9: Press the START/STOP button once.
- Step 10: Wait 5 seconds.
- Step 11: Press the START/STOP button again to turn the system off.
- Step 12: Remove the second key from the slot.
- Step 13: Wait 5 seconds, then insert the new, unprogrammed Intelligent Access key into the backup slot.
- Step 14: Press the START/STOP button once. If successful, the vehicle will recognize and program the new key.
- Step 15: Remove the newly programmed key from the slot.
- Step 16: Test the new key by using the remote lock/unlock buttons and starting the vehicle.
- Step 17: If the programming fails, wait 10 seconds, then repeat steps 1 through 16.
