2020 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This vehicle does not support onboard programming. Programming the smart key remote fob requires specialized diagnostic tools, which can only be used by a certified automotive technician or authorized dealer.
- Step 1: Identify whether you are replacing a lost key fob or adding a new one. Some systems may require all remotes to be reprogrammed together during the same session.
- Step 2: Schedule an appointment with a certified technician or authorized dealer who is equipped with the proper diagnostic tools to program your smart key fob.
- Step 3: Bring all existing key fobs to the appointment. Any remotes not present during programming may be removed from the system and stop functioning.
- Step 4: If the vehicle is still operational, consider driving it to the technician’s location, as this may be a more cost-effective option compared to mobile service.
- Step 5: If no working remotes are available, be prepared to provide proof of ownership—such as your vehicle registration or title—before programming can proceed.
- Step 6: The technician will connect specialized computer equipment to your vehicle’s system in order to securely program the new smart key fob.
- Step 7: Once programming is complete, the technician will test the key fob to ensure it successfully locks, unlocks, and starts the vehicle.
- Step 8: After programming, personally test all functions of the key fob—including panic alarm, trunk release, and remote start (if applicable)—to verify everything works properly.
- Step 9: If programming additional remotes, repeat the process for each one within 30 seconds of completing the previous programming.
- Step 10: Once all remotes are confirmed to be working properly, finalize the process and ensure the fobs are fully integrated into your vehicle’s system.
