2020 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Programming with Two Recognized Remotes: This process allows you to add a new remote when two previously programmed remotes are available.
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is completely turned off and parked safely.
- Step 2: Place the two currently programmed remote fobs into the front cupholder.
- Step 3: Go to the driver’s door and locate the exterior key lock cylinder.
- Step 4: Remove the protective cover from the key lock cylinder.
- Step 5: Take the emergency key from the new remote and insert it into the lock.
- Step 6: Turn the key counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 7: Check the dashboard display; it should read “READY FOR REMOTE #3,” “#4,” or “#5.”
- Step 8: Open the center console and remove both the top tray and rubber mat.
- Step 9: Place the new remote inside the transmitter pocket at the bottom of the storage area.
- Step 10: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
- Step 11: Wait for confirmation that the remote has been successfully programmed.
- Step 12: Remove the remote from the pocket and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button.
- Step 13: To add more remotes, repeat Steps 9 through 12 for each one.
- Step 14: After all desired remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 15: Reinsert the emergency key back into the remote.
- Step 16: Replace the protective cap over the driver’s door key lock cylinder.
Programming Without Any Recognized Remotes: Use this procedure when no remotes are currently paired to the vehicle. It takes approximately 30 minutes and allows up to eight new remotes to be programmed.
- Step 1: Make sure the vehicle is turned off and all remotes to be programmed are present.
- Step 2: Locate the driver’s side exterior key lock and remove the cylinder cap.
- Step 3: Insert the emergency key from the new remote into the lock cylinder.
- Step 4: Turn the key counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 5: The instrument cluster display will show: “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
- Step 6: Do not press any buttons. Wait approximately 10 minutes.
- Step 7: When prompted, press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
- Step 8: The screen will again read “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
- Step 9: Repeat Steps 4 through 8 two more times, allowing a 10-minute wait each time.
- Step 10: After the third cycle, the display will show: “READY FOR REMOTE #1.”
- Step 11: Open the center console, remove the tray and rubber mat to access the transmitter pocket.
- Step 12: Insert the new remote into the transmitter pocket.
- Step 13: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
- Step 14: Wait for the system to confirm that the remote has been accepted.
- Step 15: Remove the remote and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button.
- Step 16: Repeat Steps 12 through 15 for each additional remote.
- Step 17: Once all remotes have been programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit.
- Step 18: Insert the emergency keys back into each remote.
- Step 19: Reattach the protective cover to the driver’s door lock cylinder.
