2020 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Programming with Two Programmed Remotes: Use this method when two functioning remotes are already programmed to the vehicle. Additional remotes can be added using the vehicle’s onboard system.

  • Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and safely parked.
  • Step 2: Place the two programmed remotes in the front cupholder inside the center console.
  • Step 3: Locate the key lock cylinder on the exterior driver’s door handle.
  • Step 4: Insert the emergency key from the new remote into the lock cylinder.
  • Step 5: Turn the key to the unlock position (counterclockwise) five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 6: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display: “READY FOR REMOTE #2,” “#3,” “#4,” or “#5.”
  • Step 7: Remove the two programmed remotes from the cupholder.
  • Step 8: Place the new remote into the front cupholder.
  • Step 9: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button one time.
  • Step 10: Wait for the DIC to confirm the remote has been learned.
  • Step 11: Remove the new remote from the cupholder and press the UNLOCK button to complete the pairing.
  • Step 12: To program more remotes, repeat Steps 8 through 11 for each additional remote.
  • Step 13: After all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 14: Test all remotes to ensure they lock, unlock, and start the vehicle properly.

Programming Without Two Programmed Remotes: Use this method if fewer than two programmed remotes are available. This procedure allows you to program up to eight remotes and takes about 30 minutes. This feature may not be supported in all regions.

  • Step 1: Insert the emergency key from one of the remotes into the driver’s door lock cylinder.
  • Step 2: Turn the key to the unlock position (counterclockwise) five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 3: The DIC will display: “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
  • Step 4: Wait for approximately 10 minutes without interacting with the vehicle.
  • Step 5: When prompted, press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
  • Step 6: The DIC will return to “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
  • Step 7: Repeat Steps 4 through 6 two more times, completing three 10-minute cycles.
  • Step 8: After the third cycle, the DIC should display: “READY FOR REMOTE #1.”
  • Step 9: Place the first new remote into the front cupholder.
  • Step 10: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button one time.
  • Step 11: Wait for the DIC to confirm the remote has been learned.
  • Step 12: Remove the remote from the cupholder and press UNLOCK to finalize programming.
  • Step 13: Repeat Steps 9 through 12 for each additional remote.
  • Step 14: Once all remotes are programmed, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 15: Test each remote to confirm full functionality.
