A qualified professional is required to perform the programming using specialized equipment. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Steps:</b> </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Contact a certified automotive technician who has the proper tools and experience in remote fob programming. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: If the vehicle is operational, consider driving it to the technician&rsquo;s location to reduce potential service costs. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: The technician will connect diagnostic equipment to the vehicle&rsquo;s onboard system to complete the smart key fob programming process. </font></li> </ul> <p><font size="3"><b>Option 2:</b> Programming with Two Programmed Smart Keys Use this method if you have two working smart keys and wish to add a new one. All current and new remotes must be present during the process. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Steps:</b> </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Remove the mechanical key from one of the working smart key remotes. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Place both programmed smart keys in the cupholder or on the passenger seat. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Insert the mechanical key into the driver's door lock. Turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. &ndash; The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display: &ldquo;READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, ETC.&rdquo; </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Place the new remote in the remote pocket, located inside the center console in front of the storage tray between the driver and front passenger seats. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. &ndash; The DIC will confirm once the remote is successfully programmed and prompt you to program the next. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Remove the remote from the pocket and press LOCK or UNLOCK to verify functionality. &ndash; To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 4&ndash;6 for each one. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: After programming is complete, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode. Step 8: Return the mechanical key into the remote. </font></li> </ul> <p><font size="3"><b>Option 3:</b> Programming Without a Programmed Smart Key Use this procedure if you do not have any programmed remotes. This method allows programming of up to eight remotes. The process takes approximately 30 minutes and is not available in Canada. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Steps:</b> </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Remove the mechanical key from one of the unprogrammed remotes. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Insert the key into the driver door lock. Turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. &ndash; The DIC will display: &ldquo;REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.&rdquo; </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Wait approximately 10 minutes until prompted with: &ldquo;PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN.&rdquo; </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. &ndash; The display will return to &ldquo;REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.&rdquo; </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: Repeat Step 4 two more times for a total of three 10-minute cycles. &ndash; After the third cycle, the DIC will display: &ldquo;READY FOR REMOTE #1.&rdquo; &ndash; Any previously programmed remotes will be erased. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Place the new remote in the remote pocket inside the center console. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. &ndash; The remote will be programmed and the DIC will prompt for the next remote. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 8: Remove the remote and press LOCK or UNLOCK to confirm pairing. &ndash; Repeat Steps 6&ndash;8 for each additional remote. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 9: Once all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 10: Reinsert the mechanical key into the remote.</font></li> </ul>
