Programming Guide for 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage Keyless Entry Remote Fob (Smart Key)
Important Notice: This vehicle does not support onboard programming for keyless entry remote fobs. Programming requires specialized diagnostic equipment and must be performed by a qualified technician.
Programming Procedure
- Step 1: Locate a Qualified Professional Find a certified automotive technician or service provider who is equipped to program smart key remote fobs for your vehicle.
- Step 2: Consider Cost-Effective Options If your vehicle is still drivable, consider driving it to the technician’s location, as this can save money compared to having a technician come to you.
- Step 3: Prepare All Key Fobs Ensure you have all existing and new key fobs ready for programming. Some systems require all fobs to be available during the programming process.
- Step 4: Provide Proof of Ownership The technician may require proof of ownership, such as your vehicle registration or title, before beginning the programming process.
- Step 5: Connect to the Vehicle’s System The technician will use specialized diagnostic equipment to connect to your vehicle’s system. This equipment allows the technician to program the remote fob and ensure it is paired with your vehicle’s security system.
- Step 6: Programming the Smart Key Remote Fob Using the diagnostic tools, the technician will program the new remote fob, ensuring it functions correctly with your vehicle’s system.
- Step 7: Test the Programmed Fob Once the programming is complete, the technician will test the remote fob to confirm that it works as intended, including remote entry and keyless start features.
- Step 8: Program Additional Fobs (If Needed) If you have more than one new fob to program, the technician will repeat the process for each additional fob. All fobs should be programmed together to ensure they are synchronized with the vehicle’s system.
- Step 9: Exit Programming Mode Once all fobs are successfully programmed, the technician will exit programming mode and return the vehicle to normal operation.
- Step 10: Retrieve Your Vehicle and Key Fobs Once the programming is complete and tested, retrieve your vehicle and the newly programmed remote fobs. Ensure all fobs are working properly before leaving the service provider.
