Programming Guide for 2021 Audi S6 Keyless Entry Smart Key Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 2021 Audi S6 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming must be performed by a qualified automotive professional using Audi-approved diagnostic tools.
Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Schedule service with a certified technician or authorized Audi provider who is equipped with the proper diagnostic equipment to program smart key remotes.
- Step 2: If the vehicle is operable, consider bringing it to the service provider’s location. This is often more affordable than requesting mobile assistance.
- Step 3: Ensure the technician has experience with Audi’s keyless entry and immobilizer systems to ensure proper registration and system security.
- Step 4: Bring all smart key fobs you want to program. Any fobs not present during the programming session may be deleted from the system and rendered inactive.
- Step 5: The technician will connect specialized diagnostic tools to the vehicle’s OBD-II port to access its key programming interface.
- Step 6: Through the diagnostic system, the technician will initiate the key registration process, securely pairing the new fob(s) with the vehicle’s locking and ignition systems.
- Step 7: All remote functions—including lock, unlock, trunk release, and push-button start—will be tested to verify successful programming.
- Step 8: If any errors are detected, the technician will troubleshoot and repeat the process to ensure proper functionality.
- Step 9: Once all fobs are successfully programmed, the technician will exit the programming mode and confirm that the system is functioning correctly.
