2021 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Programming with Two Programmed Remotes: Use this method when two remotes are already recognized by the vehicle. This allows you to add one or more new remotes using the vehicle's onboard programming system.

  • Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is completely off and parked in a secure location.
  • Step 2: Place both currently programmed remotes into the front cupholder inside the center console.
  • Step 3: Go to the exterior driver’s door and locate the mechanical key lock.
  • Step 4: Remove the emergency key from the new remote and insert it into the key lock cylinder.
  • Step 5: Turn the key to the unlock position (counterclockwise) five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 6: The Driver Information Center (DIC) should display: “READY FOR REMOTE #2,” “#3,” “#4,” or “#5.”
  • Step 7: Remove the two programmed remotes from the cupholder.
  • Step 8: Place the new remote fob into the same front cupholder.
  • Step 9: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
  • Step 10: Wait for the DIC to confirm that the new remote has been learned.
  • Step 11: Remove the new remote from the cupholder and press the UNLOCK button to complete registration.
  • Step 12: To program more remotes, repeat Steps 8 through 11 for each additional remote.
  • Step 13: Once all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 14: Test each remote for full functionality, including lock, unlock, and engine start features.

Programming Without Two Programmed Remotes: Use this method if you have fewer than two functional remotes. It allows programming of up to eight remotes and takes approximately 30 minutes. This feature is not available in all regions.

  • Step 1: Insert the emergency key into the driver’s side exterior key lock cylinder.
  • Step 2: Turn the key to the unlock position (counterclockwise) five times within 10 seconds.
  • Step 3: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display: “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
  • Step 4: Wait approximately 10 minutes without interacting with the vehicle.
  • Step 5: When prompted, press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
  • Step 6: The DIC will return to “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
  • Step 7: Repeat Steps 4 through 6 two additional times, completing three 10-minute cycles in total.
  • Step 8: After the third cycle, the display will show: “READY FOR REMOTE #1.”
  • Step 9: Place the first new remote into the front cupholder.
  • Step 10: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
  • Step 11: Wait for the system to confirm that the remote has been successfully added.
  • Step 12: Remove the remote and press UNLOCK to complete programming.
  • Step 13: Repeat Steps 9 through 12 for each additional remote.
  • Step 14: When all remotes are programmed, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 15: Test all remotes to ensure proper operation.
