Programming Guide for 2021 Cadillac CT4 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: Each 2021 Cadillac CT4 can store up to eight remote keys. If you have two recognized remotes, you can program additional ones using the vehicle’s onboard system. If you do not have two working remotes, onboard programming is not supported and a technician must complete the process using diagnostic tools.

Programming with Two Recognized Remote Keys: Use this method if you have two functional remote keys.

  • Step 1: Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
  • Step 2: Place both recognized remote keys on the front passenger seat.
  • Step 3: Navigate the Driver Information Center (DIC) to the “Remote Key Relearn” menu and select it. The display will show “READY FOR REMOTE #3, 4, 5, etc.”
  • Step 4: Insert the new remote key into the rear cupholder.
  • Step 5: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm that the new remote has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 6: Remove the new remote from the cupholder and press UNLOCK or LOCK to test functionality.
  • Step 7: To add more remotes, repeat Steps 4–6 for each one.
  • Step 8: When finished, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for about 12 seconds to exit programming mode.

Programming without Recognized Remote Keys: If two recognized keys are not available, onboard programming is not possible. This process requires specialized equipment and must be performed by a professional technician. All remotes must be present during the programming session. The technician will use diagnostic tools to register each key to the vehicle.
