<h1>2021 GMC Yukon Denali Keyless Entry Remote Fob (Smart Key)</h1> Important Notice: The 2021 GMC Yukon Denali does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming requires the use of specialized diagnostic tools and must be completed by a trained professional. Programming Procedure Option A: Programming with Two Recognized Smart Keys If you have two existing, functional remote fobs, follow the steps below to add additional smart keys. Yukon Denali with Front Bench Seat: <ul> <li>Step 1: Place both recognized smart keys on the front passenger seat. </li> <li>Step 2: Use the Driver Information Center (DIC) to navigate to the "Remote Key Learn" option and select it. </li> <li>Step 3: The DIC should now display "READY FOR REMOTE #3, 4, 5, ETC."</li> <li>Step 4: Insert the new remote into the backup pocket located in the lower console bin. </li> <li>Step 5: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. When the remote is successfully programmed, the DIC will indicate readiness for the next remote. </li> <li>Step 6: Remove the remote from the pocket and press LOCK or UNLOCK to verify. </li> <li>Step 7: Repeat steps 4–6 for each additional remote. </li> <li>Step 8: Press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode. </li> </ul> Yukon Denali without Front Bench Seat: Follow the same procedure, but place the new remote in the backup pocket inside the left cupholder instead of the lower console bin. Option B: Programming without Recognized Smart Keys If no remotes are currently programmed to the vehicle, follow the extended relearn procedure below. Note: This feature is not available in Canada. <ul> <li>Step 1: Remove the emergency key from the new remote fob. </li> <li>Step 2: Insert the key into the driver’s door lock and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. </li> <li>Step 3: The DIC will display "REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT." </li> <li>Step 4: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the display shows "PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN." </li> <li>Step 5: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. </li> <li>Step 6: Repeat Steps 4 and 5 two more times (a total of three 10-minute cycles). </li> <li>Step 7: After the third cycle, the display will show "READY FOR REMOTE #1." </li> <li>Step 8: Place the new remote in the designated backup pocket. </li> <li>Step 9: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm when the remote is programmed. </li> <li>Step 10: Remove the remote and press LOCK or UNLOCK to verify functionality. </li> <li>Step 11: Repeat steps 8–10 for any additional remotes. </li> <li>Step 12: Press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.</li> <li> Step 13: Reinsert the key into the remote housing. </li> </ul> Additional Considerations <ul> <li>All Remotes Are Cleared in Relearn Mode: Ensure all intended remotes are present during programming. </li> <li>Proof of Ownership: If programming is being performed by a service provider, be prepared to provide your vehicle registration or title. </li> <li>Backup Pocket Location May Vary: The location of the smart key pocket depends on the seating configuration (bench seat vs. console).</li> </ul>
