Smart Key Remote Programming Instructions – 2021 Polestar 1
Important Notice: The 2021 Polestar 1 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming requires the use of advanced diagnostic equipment and must be performed by a qualified technician.
Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Contact a certified automotive technician or authorized service provider who specializes in smart key programming and has access to vehicle-compatible diagnostic tools.
- Step 2: Ensure the technician uses approved software capable of securely interfacing with your vehicle’s electronic control module.
- Step 3: If your vehicle is operational, consider driving it to the service location. This may reduce additional charges associated with mobile service.
- Step 4: Schedule an appointment in advance to confirm availability and verify that the technician is equipped with the appropriate tools for your vehicle model.
- Step 5: Bring all current smart keys with you. In some cases, all remotes must be programmed during the same session to ensure full system compatibility.
- Step 6: At the service location, the technician will connect a diagnostic device to your vehicle’s onboard port, typically located beneath the dashboard.
- Step 7: The technician will begin the programming sequence using specialized software to pair the new smart key with the vehicle’s system.
- Step 8: Once the process is complete, the technician will test all smart key functions—such as remote locking, unlocking, engine start, and trunk access—to confirm everything is working correctly.
- Step 9: Personally test each programmed remote before leaving to ensure full functionality.
- Step 10: Store spare remotes in a secure location and consider having an additional key programmed for future convenience or emergencies.
