2022 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This vehicle does not support onboard programming. Specialized diagnostic equipment is required to program the smart key remote fob, and the process must be performed by a certified automotive technician or authorized dealer.
- Step 1: Identify whether you are replacing a lost key fob or adding a new one. Some systems require all remotes to be programmed during the same session to ensure proper operation.
- Step 2: Schedule an appointment with a certified automotive technician or authorized dealer who has the necessary diagnostic tools for smart key programming.
- Step 3: Bring all existing key fobs with you to the appointment. Any remotes not present during programming may be excluded from the system and will no longer function.
- Step 4: If your vehicle is operational, consider driving it to the technician’s location, which may be more affordable than having them come to you for mobile service.
- Step 5: If no working remotes are available, be ready to provide proof of ownership, such as your vehicle registration or title, before programming can begin.
- Step 6: The technician will connect specialized diagnostic equipment to your vehicle’s system to securely program and pair the new smart key fob with the vehicle.
- Step 7: After programming, the technician will test the new key fob to ensure it locks, unlocks, and starts the vehicle as intended.
- Step 8: Once programming is complete, personally test all key fob functions—including trunk release, panic button, and remote start (if applicable)—to confirm proper operation.
- Step 9: If additional remotes need to be programmed, repeat the process for each one within the 30-second window after the previous remote has been programmed.
- Step 10: Once all remotes are verified to work correctly, finalize the process and ensure all programmed fobs are fully integrated into your vehicle’s system.
