Programming Guide for 2022 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Programming with Two Recognized Remotes: This method allows you to add a new remote when two currently programmed remotes are available.
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is completely turned off and parked securely.
- Step 2: Place both working remotes into the front cupholder.
- Step 3: Go to the driver’s side door and locate the external key cylinder.
- Step 4: Remove the cap covering the key lock cylinder.
- Step 5: Take the emergency key from the new remote and insert it into the lock.
- Step 6: Turn the key counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 7: Check the dashboard display; it should read: “READY FOR REMOTE #3,” “#4,” or “#5.”
- Step 8: Open the center console. Remove the upper tray and rubber mat to access the transmitter pocket.
- Step 9: Insert the new remote into the transmitter pocket inside the center console.
- Step 10: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
- Step 11: Wait for the confirmation message that the new remote has been successfully learned.
- Step 12: Remove the remote from the pocket and press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button to complete registration.
- Step 13: If needed, repeat Steps 9 through 12 to program additional remotes.
- Step 14: After programming is complete, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 15: Reinsert the emergency key into the new remote.
- Step 16: Replace the key cylinder cap on the driver’s door.
Programming Without Any Recognized Remotes: This process should be followed when no previously programmed remotes are available. The full process takes about 30 minutes and allows you to program up to eight remotes.
- Step 1: Confirm the vehicle is turned off and all remotes to be programmed are present.
- Step 2: Locate the key cylinder on the outside of the driver’s door and remove the cap.
- Step 3: Insert the emergency key from the new remote into the key lock.
- Step 4: Turn the key to the unlock position (counterclockwise) five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 5: Check the display for the message: “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
- Step 6: Remain near the vehicle and wait approximately 10 minutes.
- Step 7: When prompted, press the ENGINE START/STOP button one time.
- Step 8: The message will return to: “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
- Step 9: Repeat Steps 4 through 8 two more times, with a 10-minute wait for each cycle.
- Step 10: After the third cycle, the dashboard display should read: “READY FOR REMOTE #1.”
- Step 11: Open the center console, remove the tray and mat, and place the new remote in the transmitter pocket.
- Step 12: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
- Step 13: Wait for the system to confirm that the remote has been successfully programmed.
- Step 14: Remove the remote and press either LOCK or UNLOCK to verify activation.
- Step 15: Repeat Steps 11 through 14 to add any additional remotes.
- Step 16: Once all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 17: Insert the emergency keys back into each remote.
- Step 18: Reinstall the key lock cap on the driver’s side door.
