Programming Guide for 2022 Cadillac CT5 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

The 2022 Cadillac CT5 allows up to eight remote keys to be programmed to the vehicle. Use the appropriate procedure below based on whether you have two recognized keys or none.

Programming with Two Recognized Remote Keys: This method allows you to add a new remote key if you currently have two functioning remote keys.

  • Step 1: Turn the ignition to RUN (engine off, but electronics active).
  • Step 2: Place the two recognized remote keys on the front passenger seat.
  • Step 3: Navigate through the Driver Information Center (DIC) and select “Remote Key Relearn.”
  • Step 4: The DIC will display “READY FOR REMOTE #3, 4, 5,” etc.
  • Step 5: Place the new remote key in the rear cupholder.
  • Step 6: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm when the new remote key is successfully learned.
  • Step 7: Remove the newly programmed key from the cupholder and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button.
  • Step 8: To add additional remotes, repeat Steps 5–7 for each one.
  • Step 9: Once all desired remotes have been added, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for about 12 seconds to exit programming mode.

Programming Without Recognized Remote Keys: If no working remote keys are available, onboard programming is not supported.

In this case:

  • Step 1: Confirm that all replacement remote keys are inside the vehicle.
  • Step 2: Use the mechanical key blade to unlock the driver's door and access the cabin.
  • Step 3: Attempt to activate the ignition by pressing the Start/Stop button without pressing the brake.
  • Step 4: A technician will need to connect a diagnostic scan tool to the vehicle’s OBD-II port.
  • Step 5: The technician will follow the scan tool prompts to enter key learning mode.
  • Step 6: Once the system is ready, each remote key will be added individually by placing it in the designated cupholder and confirming the action.
  • Step 7: After programming, each remote should be tested by pressing LOCK, UNLOCK, and starting the vehicle.
  • Step 8: Repeat the process to add additional keys as needed.
  • Step 9: Exit programming mode once all remotes are accepted and functioning.
