Smart Key Remote Programming Instructions – 2022 Genesis G90
Important Notice: The 2022 Genesis G90 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming must be performed by a qualified technician using advanced diagnostic tools.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Contact a certified automotive technician or authorized service provider with expertise in smart key programming and access to compatible diagnostic equipment.
- Step 2: Verify that the provider uses the appropriate tools and software designed to communicate with your vehicle’s electronic control unit.
- Step 3: If your vehicle is drivable, consider visiting the service provider’s location. This may help reduce the cost of mobile service or travel-related charges.
- Step 4: Schedule an appointment in advance to confirm tool availability and minimize wait times during your visit.
- Step 5: Bring all existing smart keys to the appointment. In many cases, all remotes must be reprogrammed together to remain functional.
- Step 6: Once on site, the technician will connect a diagnostic interface to the vehicle’s onboard port, typically located under the dashboard.
- Step 7: The technician will then initiate the programming sequence, allowing the new smart key to be securely registered with the vehicle’s electronic system.
- Step 8: After programming, the technician will test all remote functions—including keyless entry, engine start, and trunk release—to ensure everything is working correctly.
- Step 9: Test each smart key yourself before leaving to verify full functionality.
- Step 10: Store backup remotes in a safe place, and consider programming an additional key for emergency use or future convenience.
