Smart Key Remote Programming Guide – 2022 Genesis GV70
Important Notice: The 2022 Genesis GV70 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming must be completed by a trained technician using specialized diagnostic equipment.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Contact a certified automotive technician or authorized service provider with experience in smart key systems and access to manufacturer-compatible diagnostic tools.
- Step 2: Verify that the technician is equipped with the proper software to interface with your vehicle’s electronic control system and perform secure key registration.
- Step 3: If your vehicle is operable, consider driving to the service location. This may help reduce service fees compared to requesting mobile assistance.
- Step 4: Schedule an appointment in advance to confirm availability and ensure the technician is prepared with the necessary tools for your vehicle model.
- Step 5: Bring all existing smart keys with you. Some systems require that all remotes be present during programming to maintain their functionality.
- Step 6: At the service location, the technician will connect a diagnostic device to your vehicle’s onboard port, typically located under the dashboard.
- Step 7: The technician will initiate the programming process through the diagnostic system to securely pair the new smart key with the vehicle.
- Step 8: Once programming is complete, all functions—such as locking, unlocking, trunk release, and push-button start—will be tested to confirm successful operation.
- Step 9: Personally test each remote to ensure full functionality before completing the service.
- Step 10: Store backup remotes in a safe place and consider having an additional key programmed as a precaution.
