2022 Honda Insight – Smart Key Remote Fob Programming Instructions
Important Notice: The 2022 Honda Insight does not feature onboard programming for smart key remotes. All programming must be carried out using advanced diagnostic equipment by a trained automotive technician with access to the vehicle’s electronic systems.
Programming Procedure
- Step 1: Arrange service with a technician or service facility that is experienced in smart key programming. Confirm they use diagnostic tools compatible with your vehicle’s control modules.
- Step 2: If the vehicle is drivable, transporting it to the service location can help lower the overall cost of programming. Mobile service may involve additional fees.
- Step 3: Bring all remote fobs you plan to use. When a new fob is programmed, any previous remotes may be erased from the system. All remotes must be reprogrammed during the same session to retain access.
- Step 4: At the service site, the technician will connect a diagnostic scanner to the OBD-II port—usually located beneath the dashboard—to access the vehicle’s immobilizer and keyless entry system.
- Step 5: Using the diagnostic interface, the technician will begin the key registration process. Each smart key will be securely programmed to communicate with the vehicle’s system, enabling door access and engine start.
