Programming Guide for 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage Keyless Entry Remote Fob (Smart Key)

Important Notice: This vehicle does not support onboard programming for keyless entry remote fobs. Programming requires specialized diagnostic equipment and must be performed by a qualified technician.

Programming Procedure

  • Step 1: Locate a Qualified Professional Find a certified automotive technician or service provider who has the proper equipment to program the smart key remote fobs for your vehicle.
  • Step 2: Consider Cost-Effective Options If your vehicle is still drivable, driving it to the technician’s location may save you money compared to having the technician come to you.
  • Step 3: Prepare All Key Fobs Ensure you have all the current and new key fobs that need to be programmed. Some vehicles may require all existing fobs to be present during the programming process.
  • Step 4: Provide Proof of Ownership Before programming, the technician may ask for proof of ownership, such as your vehicle’s registration or title, to verify that you are the owner of the vehicle.
  • Step 5: Connect to the Vehicle’s System The technician will connect specialized diagnostic equipment to your vehicle’s system. This allows the technician to securely access the vehicle’s security system to begin programming the smart key remote fob.
  • Step 6: Programming the Smart Key Remote Fob Using the diagnostic tools, the technician will program the new remote fob, ensuring it is paired with your vehicle’s system and that it functions properly.
  • Step 7: Test the Programmed Fob Once the programming is complete, the technician will test the newly programmed remote fob to ensure it works correctly with your vehicle, verifying remote entry and keyless start functions.
  • Step 8: Program Additional Fobs (If Needed) If you have additional key fobs to program, the technician will repeat the programming process for each one. All fobs should be programmed at the same time to ensure they synchronize with the vehicle’s system.
  • Step 9: Exit Programming Mode After all key fobs are successfully programmed and tested, the technician will exit programming mode and reset the vehicle’s system to its normal operational state.
  • Step 10: Retrieve Your Vehicle and Key Fobs Once the programming is complete, retrieve your vehicle and the newly programmed remote fobs. Ensure that all fobs are working properly before leaving the service provider.
