Important Notice: The 2023 BMW 3 Series does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. All programming must be performed using specialized BMW diagnostic equipment by a certified automotive technician or authorized dealer.

• Step 1: Ensure the replacement smart key remote fob is compatible with the 2023 BMW 3 Series. Using an incorrect or mismatched fob may result in unsuccessful pairing or limited functionality.
• Step 2: Schedule an appointment with a certified technician or authorized BMW service center equipped with the required programming tools and software.
• Step 3: Ask whether all existing key fobs must be reprogrammed during the session. Some systems will delete any fobs not included in the reprogramming process.
• Step 4: If your vehicle is drivable, consider bringing it directly to the service provider’s location to reduce service costs often associated with mobile programming.
• Step 5: At the service center, the technician will connect BMW-specific diagnostic equipment to the vehicle’s onboard port to access the key programming system.
• Step 6: The technician will then initiate a secure procedure to register the new smart key with the vehicle’s electronic system, enabling features such as remote entry, trunk release, and push-button start.
