Programming Guide for 2023 Cadillac CT4 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 2023 Cadillac CT4 does not support onboard programming. All remote key fobs must be programmed using a professional diagnostic scan tool by a certified technician. The following steps explain what to expect during the process.
If You Do Not Have Two Recognized Remote Keys Follow these steps when no programmed keys are available:
- Step 1: Confirm Vehicle Requirements Ensure all remote key fobs to be programmed are present. Programming will erase all existing remotes—previously recognized keys will no longer function after the process.
- Step 2: Arrange for Professional Service Contact a certified technician or authorized service center equipped with GM-compatible diagnostic tools. Onboard programming is not possible with user access alone.
- Step 3: Prepare the Vehicle Ensure the vehicle battery is fully charged to prevent disruption during the programming session. All doors should remain closed unless otherwise instructed during the process.
- Step 4: Transport the Vehicle (if necessary) If the vehicle is still drivable, consider driving it to the technician’s location to avoid mobile service or towing charges. If the vehicle is not mobile, arrange for a technician to come to your location.
- Step 5: Connect Diagnostic Equipment The technician will connect a GM-certified diagnostic scan tool to the vehicle’s OBD-II port. The scan tool will access the vehicle's Body Control Module (BCM) to initiate the key fob programming procedure.
- Step 6: Begin Remote Matching Procedure The technician will initiate a remote relearn session from the scan tool. The vehicle will enter a learn mode, during which the system can accept new remotes.
- Step 7: Insert and Recognize New Remote Each new remote must be placed in the vehicle’s transmitter pocket or designated programming location as directed. The system will detect and register each remote key, one at a time.
- Step 8: Confirm Programming Completion After each remote is programmed, the technician will confirm successful pairing via the diagnostic tool and on the Driver Information Center (DIC). A confirmation tone or message may appear once the vehicle recognizes the key.
- Step 9: Program Additional Remotes (if needed) Repeat the previous step for each additional remote (up to a total of eight remotes).
- Step 10: Finalize and Test Once all remotes are programmed, the technician will exit the programming session. Test each newly programmed remote to ensure it locks/unlocks the doors and starts the vehicle as expected.
Additional Notes: A maximum of eight remote keys can be programmed to a 2023 Cadillac CT4. Always store unprogrammed or lost remotes in a safe location to prevent unintended use. Programming typically takes 30–45 minutes, depending on technician availability and vehicle condition.
