Programming Guide for 2023 Cadillac CT5 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

This vehicle does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Specialized diagnostic tools and authorization are required to complete the programming process.

Important Notice: If you have lost all functioning remote keys or are adding a new one, programming must be completed using a professional scan tool capable of interfacing with the vehicle’s security system. This applies to both standard replacements and new additions.

Programming Procedure (No Working Remotes Available):

  • Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and parked securely.
  • Step 2: Confirm that all remote keys to be programmed are present inside the vehicle during the procedure.
  • Step 3: Remove the emergency key blade from the remote by pressing the release button on the back of the fob.
  • Step 4: Carefully remove the keyhole cap from the driver door handle, then insert the key into the lock cylinder and turn it counterclockwise five times within ten seconds.
  • Step 5: The vehicle will enter remote learn mode. A message such as “REMOTE LEARN PENDING” may appear on the Driver Information Center (DIC), followed by a wait period.
  • Step 6: When prompted, press the ENGINE START/STOP button. Wait for the DIC to confirm readiness.
  • Step 7: Repeat the 10-minute wait process three times. After the third cycle, the system will clear existing keys and prompt “READY FOR REMOTE #1.”
  • Step 8: Open the center console and remove the rubber mat to access the transmitter pocket.
  • Step 9: Place the new remote fob into the transmitter pocket with the buttons facing forward.
  • Step 10: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm once the remote is successfully learned.
  • Step 11: Remove the remote from the pocket and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button to test functionality.
  • Step 12: To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 9–11 for each.
  • Step 13: Once complete, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
  • Step 14: Replace the emergency key blade into the fob and reinstall the keyhole cap on the driver door.
