<h1>2023 GMC Terrain – Smart Key Fob Programming Instructions</h1> <p><font size="3">Your vehicle offers two programming procedures for keyless entry remote fobs, depending on whether two recognized transmitters are available. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Programming with Two Recognized Transmitters</b> </font></p> <p><font size="3">Use this method when two currently programmed transmitters are present with you during programming. </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Remove the key lock cylinder cap from the driver’s door handle. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Place both recognized transmitters in the front cup holder.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 3: Insert the mechanical key into the driver’s door lock, then turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. – The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display: “READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, ETC.” </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Place the new transmitter into the cup holder.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 5: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. – Once the transmitter is programmed, the DIC will confirm and prompt readiness for the next transmitter. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Remove the new transmitter from the cup holder and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button to complete pairing. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: To program additional transmitters, repeat Steps 4–6. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 8: When finished, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 9: Reinsert the mechanical key back into the transmitter. </font></li> </ul> <p><font size="3"><b>Programming Without Recognized Transmitters</b> </font></p> <p><font size="3">Use this method if no programmed transmitters are available.
