Important Notice: The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming must be carried out by a qualified automotive technician using specialized diagnostic equipment.

Smart Key Programming Procedure:

• Step 1: Schedule an appointment with a technician or service center that is equipped with vehicle-compatible smart key programming tools.
• Step 2: If the vehicle is fully functional, consider driving it to the service location. This can often reduce service costs compared to requesting a technician to travel to you.
• Step 3: Upon arrival, the technician will connect a diagnostic tool to the vehicle’s onboard data port, typically located beneath the dashboard.
• Step 4: The technician will initiate the programming sequence, allowing the new smart key to be securely registered to the vehicle’s control system.
• Step 5: The remote will be configured to operate essential features such as keyless entry, push-button ignition, and proximity-based functions.
• Step 6: If more than one smart key is being added, ensure all keys are present during the session, as the system may clear any keys not detected during programming.
