Smart Key Remote Programming Instructions – 2023 Polestar 3
Important Notice: The 2023 Polestar 3 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. A certified technician must perform the programming using specialized diagnostic equipment.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Contact a certified automotive technician or authorized service provider who is experienced in smart key programming and has access to manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools.
- Step 2: Confirm that the technician uses software compatible with your vehicle’s onboard systems to ensure secure communication and proper key registration.
- Step 3: If your vehicle is drivable, consider visiting the technician’s location rather than requesting mobile service, which may help reduce overall service costs.
- Step 4: Schedule an appointment ahead of time to ensure the technician is available and fully equipped to handle your vehicle model.
- Step 5: Bring all existing smart keys to the appointment. In some cases, all remotes must be reprogrammed together to maintain system functionality.
- Step 6: At the service location, the technician will connect a diagnostic tool to your vehicle’s onboard diagnostic port—typically located beneath the dashboard.
- Step 7: The technician will initiate the programming sequence using secure software to register the new smart key with your vehicle’s electronic control system.
- Step 8: Once the programming process is complete, the technician will test all key functions, including lock/unlock, trunk access, and push-button start, to confirm proper operation.
- Step 9: Personally test each remote before leaving to ensure all features function correctly.
- Step 10: Store spare remotes in a secure place, and consider programming a backup key for emergency use or added convenience.
