Programming with Two Recognized Remote Keys: This process allows you to add a new remote when two existing remotes are already programmed to the vehicle.
- Step 1: Confirm the vehicle is fully turned off and parked securely.
- Step 2: Place the two currently recognized remote keys inside the remote key pocket (typically located inside the center console or armrest).
- Step 3: On the outside of the driver’s door, remove the cap covering the key lock cylinder.
- Step 4: Insert the emergency key from the new remote into the lock.
- Step 5: Turn the key to the unlock position (counterclockwise) five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 6: The Driver Information Center (DIC) should display: “READY FOR REMOTE #2,” “#3,” “#4,” etc.
- Step 7: Remove the two recognized remotes from the remote key pocket.
- Step 8: Place the new remote into the remote key pocket.
- Step 9: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button one time.
- Step 10: Wait for confirmation that the remote has been successfully learned by the system.
- Step 11: Remove the new remote from the pocket and press LOCK or UNLOCK to verify pairing.
- Step 12: To program more remotes, repeat Steps 8 through 11 for each additional one.
- Step 13: When all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 14: Reinsert the emergency key into the remote fob.
- Step 15: Reinstall the cap over the door lock cylinder.
Programming Without Recognized Remote Keys: If you do not have two recognized remotes, follow this method to program up to eight new remotes. The process takes about 30 minutes. This feature may not be available in all countries.
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is off and all new remotes are present.
- Step 2: Remove the key lock cylinder cap from the driver’s exterior door handle.
- Step 3: Insert the emergency key into the lock and turn it to the unlock position (counterclockwise) five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 4: The DIC will display: “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
- Step 5: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the DIC prompts: “PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN.”
- Step 6: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once.
- Step 7: The DIC will display “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT” again.
- Step 8: Repeat Steps 5 through 7 two more times, completing three full 10-minute cycles.
- Step 9: After the third cycle, the DIC will display: “READY FOR REMOTE #1.”
- Step 10: Place the new remote into the remote key pocket.
- Step 11: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button one time.
- Step 12: Wait for the system to confirm the remote has been successfully added.
- Step 13: Remove the remote and press LOCK or UNLOCK to complete registration.
- Step 14: Repeat Steps 10 through 13 for each additional remote.
- Step 15: When all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 16: Return the emergency key to each remote.
- Step 17: Reattach the cap over the door lock cylinder.
