2024 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob – Envision
Important Notice: The 2024 Envision does not support onboard programming for smart key fobs. Remote fobs must be programmed using professional diagnostic tools by a qualified technician. This process cannot be performed manually by the vehicle owner.
Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Confirm that the vehicle requires external programming. This model year cannot be programmed using in-vehicle methods such as key cycling or dashboard button sequences.
- Step 2: Gather all remote fobs you intend to use. Depending on the vehicle system, any fobs not present during the session may be erased and rendered inactive.
- Step 3: Prepare documentation proving ownership. This typically includes a valid photo ID along with your vehicle’s title or registration.
- Step 4: Schedule an appointment with a qualified technician who has access to manufacturer-compliant diagnostic tools capable of programming your vehicle’s security system.
- Step 5: If the vehicle is drivable, consider taking it directly to the service location. Doing so may reduce overall costs compared to requesting mobile service.
- Step 6: The technician will connect a diagnostic interface to the vehicle's onboard system through the OBD-II port, usually located beneath the dashboard.
- Step 7: Specialized software will be used to access the vehicle’s key programming system. The new remote fob will be securely paired with the vehicle.
- Step 8: Any previously programmed remotes not present may be removed from the system during the process, depending on the security configuration.
- Step 9: After programming, the technician will test each remote to verify that all functions—such as lock, unlock, panic alarm, and remote start—work properly.
- Step 10: Store spare remotes in a secure location and clearly label them for easy identification in the future.
Additional Tips:
It is often more cost-effective to have multiple remotes programmed during the same visit. Ensure the technician has experience with smart key systems and access to the appropriate software to avoid compatibility issues. If no remotes are available at all, additional identity verification may be required before programming can begin.
