Programming Guide for 2024 Cadillac CT4 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 2024 Cadillac CT4 does not support onboard programming. Remote key fobs for this model must be programmed using professional-grade diagnostic equipment by a certified technician. The following procedure outlines what to expect during professional programming.

Programming When No Recognized Remote Keys Are Available: If no previously programmed keys are present or functional, follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Gather All Remotes Ensure all new or replacement remotes you intend to use are present during the session. All previously programmed remotes will be erased and must be reprogrammed during the same procedure.
  • Step 2: Confirm Vehicle Is Ready for Programming The vehicle must be off. The battery should be fully charged to avoid communication issues during programming.
  • Step 3: Arrange for Professional Programming Contact a certified technician or dealership equipped with a GM-approved diagnostic scan tool. Programming cannot be completed through manual onboard methods.
  • Step 4: Transport the Vehicle (if necessary) If the vehicle is drivable, bring it to the technician to avoid mobile service charges. If not drivable, mobile services or towing may be needed to get the vehicle programmed.
  • Step 5: Connect Diagnostic Scan Tool The technician will plug in a GM-compatible scan tool to the vehicle’s OBD-II port. The system will communicate with the vehicle’s Body Control Module (BCM) to initiate the key programming process.
  • Step 6: Begin Programming Session The technician will initiate a “Remote Key Learn” session. The vehicle will enter learn mode, allowing new keys to be registered.
  • Step 7: Insert New Remote into Programming Position The technician will place the new remote in the transmitter pocket or designated programming area within the vehicle. The exact location is typically in or near the rear cupholder or center console.
  • Step 8: System Registers Remote The scan tool will confirm when the remote has been successfully programmed. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display a confirmation message such as “Remote Learned” or “Ready for Next Remote.”
  • Step 9: Repeat for Additional Remotes Up to eight remotes can be programmed to the 2024 Cadillac CT4. Repeat Steps 7–8 for each additional remote.
  • Step 10: Exit Programming Mode Once all remotes are added, the technician will finalize the session and exit learn mode. A confirmation message will display, and the programming session will end.
  • Step 11: Verify Remote Functions Test all remotes to ensure that door lock/unlock, remote start, and push-button start features function correctly.

Additional Considerations: Always store unneeded or spare remotes in a safe place. Lost or stolen remotes should be erased during the programming session for security. If a remote does not function properly, it may need to be replaced or its battery checked.
